Types Of Dental Implants
When you schedule a visit at our office, our dentist will be able to tell you which of the three types of implants is right for you. There are several different kinds, so let’s go over them.
- Root Form Implant: This is the most common type of implant where the screw is shaped like the root of a tooth
- Plate Form Implant: A plate form implant has a flat and long shape and is better suited for a narrow jawbone
- Subperiosteal Implants: In some cases where there is not enough bone width or height for the root form or plate form implant, a subperiosteal implant may be prescribed. This type of implant is designed to sit on top of the bone, but under the gums.
What’s The Average Cost For Dental Implants?
It really depends on the type of implant you’ll need. There are a few variables that could affect the pricing of the procedure. That’s why it’s always best to book a consultation to come in and see one of our dentist, so we can find out exactly what you’ll need.
The great thing is, if you’re not in the position to pay outright for this cosmetic dentistry procedure, or through having dental insurance, we have dental financing options available that make getting your implant affordable and easy.

Should I Get A Crown Or Dental Implants?
There’s definitely different circumstances where you’d want to get a crown instead of a dental implant… or vise versa. When you have broken teeth, or weak teeth, a dental crown is a great solution to repair, or stop a tooth from decaying further.
If you’re already lost your tooth, or it’s a situation where your tooth needs to be extracted, then a dental implant would be the better decision. It ultimately comes down to your unique circumstance. Let our expert trained cosmetic dentist let you know if you should get a crown or dental implants.
Dental implants are really the closest procedure you can have to get the end result of a natural looking and feeling tooth. Sometimes it will come down to just that, what’s your desired outcome… because both could be an option.
How Painful Is It To Get Dental Implants?
Since the dentist will be making an incision in your gums, you’ll be given local anesthesia to numb your jaw during the procedure. Once the effects of the anesthesia wear on, you won’t feel any pain, maybe just some pulling and slight pressure. If for some reason you do feel pain, you’ll let the dentist know right away and he can administer more anesthesia. Our dentists are here to help you have a successful, pain free, procedure.
